These workshops are for anyone, whether you have ever painted or not!

Study the artist while creating a new version of the old masterpiece.

A learning experience for all those with interest in the artist.

$129 per person, includes all materials and nachos from Todo Mexico!

 

 

 

Classes/Instruction

Classes in art are geared to the artists 16yrs old and up. Classes are small, intimate classes allowing for greater opportunity per artists. Each course/class is taught by an artist with a minimum of a M.A. in Art Education to assure you, the student, quality learning of art materials.

Oils -

Art classes are the first 3 weeks of every month. They are set up on a first come first serve basis. Call today to set up or join an existing class.

 

Beginning oils art instruction - Learn the properties of oil paints while you create still lifes. You will experience underpainting and layer building and also learn the joys of alla prima.

3 weeks - $110

Your first beginning class includes materials so you can see if you like the medium before making the investment.

 

Intermediate to advanced art instruction - Follow along as we create a larger still life, recreate a photograph or create on our own. Critique is an important part of this class and you will learn to give as well as receive the benefits of critique. Learn the qualities of different pigments and media, what should be mixed and what should be avoided when trying to create long-term quality.

Abstract in Oils - study the principles of form and composition while learning to accomplish jewel-like tones with your oil colors.

3 weeks - $110

 

Acrylics

 

Beginning Acrylics - Learn the properties of these marvelous newest paints while you create still lifes. You will experiment with alla prima and with glazing.

3 weeks - $99

 

Intermediate to advanced - We experience the different aspects of acrylics and different mediums while we create a larger still life, recreate a photograph or create on our own. You can work on your own with guidance or follow the instructor’s painting. As with oils, critique is an important part of this class and you will learn to give as well as receive the benefits of critique. Learn the qualities of different pigments and media, what should be mixed and what should be avoided when trying to create long-term quality.

Mastering the Art of Knives

Intermediate to advanced - an indepth class in application of paint in thick layers with the use of palette knives.
